For World AIDS Day, SKYN and Sid Lee Paris highlight the importance of wearing a condom

AIDS is still around. Yet many experts warn of the dangerous negligence in wearing condoms. 

Unfortunately, it is men who are usually the most resistant. With a trend which, although denounced on social networks, is still struggling to be heard: men still find excuses to try to negotiate unprotected sex. 

Condom maker SKYN found that indeed men are still coming up with all kinds of excuses to not wear condoms so they decided to address them head on.

Together with the brand's agency Sid Lee, they produced the uniquely named "Inexcusable Excuses" collection which does just that. The condoms were produced in a limited quantity, but the message has been adapted to markets in Portugal, Italy, Brazil, and more. In France influencer Camille Aumont-Carnel (@jemenbatsleclito) is pushing the subject to her 700K+ Instagram followers.

And for World Aids Day (December 1) SKYN decided to launch the campaign to trigger heightened awareness of condom use by tackling these lame excuses from guys.

Accompanied by its agency Sid Lee Paris, the famous condom brand launched a special collection for the day called : “The Inexcusable Excuses condom collection”. 

During this day, SKYN redesigned the packs of its symbolic condoms ORIGINAL, LARGE, ELITE by renaming them with a bad excuse aimed at obstinate men: "Sadly, they don’t have my size" ; "Damn, I’m allergic to latex" ;  "Sorry, it reduces my sensations." Each excuse finds a convincing answer and description of the condom available for use.

Awareness videos and visuals were massively broadcasted in the United States, France, Brazil, Italy and Portugal. 

"It’s about time that none of these inexcusable excuses be excused," says the team at Sid Lee.

For Céline and Clément Mornet Landa, creative directors at Sid Lee, “This campaign reminds us that whether wearing a condom is not negotiable. By boldly writing these messages on the packs, SKYN supports those on the receiving end over the ones looking for excuses”.
